When Avanti called to inquire about a photo session, she told me that her daughter is 6 months old, and she regrets never having had newborn portraits taken, so she wants to get beautiful photos as soon as possible. Oh, how I can relate to her feelings of loss of newborn portraits! (You can see my feelings about my daughter’s newborn photo in a post I wrote a while ago.)
We scheduled a session to take place the following week, and chatted about clothing, accessories, props, and color preferences.
Baby Oorja was full of smiles when she arrived at the studio, and an absolute joy to photograph! She was very friendly, and happy to change her outfit several times for different looks. At this age, babies who are a few months old are pure joy — they stay where I put them, and they show their joyous personalities!
Most babies can sit independently at 7-8 months old, yet Oorja sat remarkably well at just six months of age!
Avanti brought along some traditional Indian props, including two blankets that used to be Oorja’s great-grandmother’s sari! I love when clients bring items that are sentimental to incorporate in their photo sessions.
